Webonizer 2.0 Planned

Webonizer 2.0 Planned

The Webonizer 1.x series is coming to a close with the preparation for Webonizer 2.0. Webonizer 2.0 is slated for launch in January 2008. The new version will transition Webonizer to PHP 5. The current version of Webonizer works in PHP 5 but does not include any PHP 5 specific functionality. With the advent of Webonizer 2.0, PHP 5 will become a requisite to run Webonizer.

With the update, Webonizer will also be moving to MySQL 5.0 to take advantage of more optimized database functionality.

When Webonizer 2.0 launches, development on Webonizer 1 will be limited to potential security updates. At that point, Webonizer will no longer release functionality updates for Webonizer 1.

The end of Webonizer 1.x coincides with the official end of PHP 4 as a supported scripting language.
