Because Webonizer is built to make organizing your website information simple and keeping the correct information linked to other relevant information, it is designed to allow you to serialize your articles. Understanding the Series functionality is important in keeping your website cross-referenced properly.
In Webonizer, a Series is a collection of articles that share a common theme. In a way you can think of the relationship of articles and series in the same way you think of chapters and books.
Every article in a series is automatically linked back and forth with every other article in that series. This makes it easy to allow readers to find previous and successive articles that deal with the current article’s topic.
There are two ways to create series. Both ways are discussed below.
Any time you view an article you have permission to edit, you will see a link called “Add Series” near the “Edit Article” link. If you click that link you will find the normal Article Creation form except it will have a new field (if the original article is not part of an existing series) or a new line that gives the name of the series (if the article already belongs to a series).
If the original article does not belong to a series, you will need to create a name for the series. Then you add the new article as you would any other time. Upon successful completion of posting your new article, a new series will be created that will automatically link these two articles and any future articles you add to the series.
If the original article already belonged to a series, the new article and all previously existing articles in the series will be interlinked.
You can also create a new series from scratch by going to your Account Manager and clicking “My Series Admin”. On this page you will find links to all your existing series’ as well as a form to add new series and/or edit existing series.
The Series Administration allows you to edit the Series Name, Series Description and sort the articles in the series. You can also remove articles from a series as well as add existing articles (that may or may not belong to other series’) to the series you are working on.
