Why can I not stay logged in?

Some users may find that they cannot stay logged into a website. This happens in spite of a notice of successful login. The reason is usually on the client end—where a client has set security settings so high that cookies get blocked.

All Webonizer-enabled websites requires cookies to be enabled for login to persist past the login phase. This means that if your browser is blocking all cookies, you cannot stay logged into your website.

Unblocking cookies is essential and necessary. Without cookies, a website has no way to track your user id and permissions—meaning that Webonizer relies on tracking your session cookie to verify that you are who you say you are (not in a first-name or other personably identifiable method, but via an impersonal ID).

Despite privacy concerns, the only essential cookie that you must allow is a SESSION cookie that is simply a long and random string on your computer that matches to your permissions on the server. You do not have to allow all cookies, but this session cookie is necessary.
