If you are a member of a site using Webonizer you may be able to load image and other media files such as sound file, video files and others to the internet. Exactly what files you can load is dependent on the owners of the site you are using.
There are a few things to keep in mind when loading files. First, reduce the size of your files as much as possible. For images, this means shrinking them in size and compressing them into JPGs with an image-editing program such as Corel PHOTO-PAINT, Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. Large images may take so long to load that your page times-out and may not load.
If the image form has entries to load more than one file at a time, you must be even more careful about file size. While a single file may be troublesome, multiple large files almost guarantee that your action will not go through.
If you have deleted an image and then loaded a new image, you may find that the one you deleted still appears in your browser window. This may seem disturbing at first, but what has likely happened is that your browser has not yet refreshed its “image cache”. Since Webonizer automatically names your files in a standard format, new files sometimes get the names of files that have been deleted—this can confuse a browser because the browser makes temporary copies of images on your computer so it does not have to download the same image every time it comes to that image.
To see if your old image is indeed gone and the new image is in its place, you must go to a page that the image will appear on and hit the refresh button (in Internet Explorer press F5). The browser will get new versions of all images and files belonging to the page. NOTE: Do not hit the refresh on the form that you submitted as that will cause your action (updating a form, etc) to resubmit. So if your image was on an article, go to the article the image belongs to and hit refresh there.
Sometimes you will notice some of your images appearing as black boxes rather than photos or images. If this is the case, you should refresh the page (like above). If, after refreshing the image, you still see a black image, you must delete the image. If, after deleting the image you still see it and it is black… you will need to contact the site administrator as the site may need to upgrade to the latest version of Webonizer.
